A REVAMPED trappers shed at Mole Creek is tempting travellers with handmade and vintage wares.
The summer tourist season has seen a throng of visitors in the Meander Valley region, with the Mole Creek Everyday Market just one of the many stopovers.
Carol Ward and Joy Willey, both of Deloraine, are two parts of the troupe of women who came together to form the store that is situated in the historical shed.
"It is like a co-op, we all work together. There is such a lot of trust involved," Mrs Ward said.
She said the shed had been restored to retain its original character.
This added to the element of "quaintness".
"It is local people doing local things ... and there are no big prices, because there are no big rentals."
Each woman involved has a designated area to display her wares.
This includes crafts, jewellery, homemade jams and chutneys, alpaca wool knits and scarves, and pre- loved item.
Joy Willey said the store was "a good escape" where she could meet new people.
"We are able to spend a day there and not have to worry about other things," Mrs Willey said.
"Some people don't want to talk, but other people chat away and you hear all sorts of things about where they are going, or where they have been.
"There was a lady who bought a beautiful handmade porcelain doll ... she collects dolls and teddy bears and said she had over 800."
