AN INTIMATE concert from a singer who was recognised in Rolling Stone Magazine will be held this month at Little Theatre, Deloraine.
Launceston born Lucie Thorne said her arrival at Deloraine will be something like a homecoming.
"I've got lots of gorgeous family and friends there," Thorne said.
"Little Theatre is such a special room ... I have a soft spot for old halls and theatres."
Thorne will play at Deloraine after performing at the Tamar Valley Folk Festival, and will be accompanied by Sydney drummer Hamish Stuart.
The concert coincides with the release of her sixth album Bonfires in Silver City.
Ms Thorne said most of the material was written on tour.
"I treat each song as its own little creature," she said.
"The lyrics are at the fore, they are often quite melodic songs (and) I didn't want to drown them in the arrangements."
She said she has a broad range of musical influences that have continually affected her musical career.
This included musicians such as Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Ricki-Lee Jones, Mark Kozelek, Joni Mitchell and Cat Power.
"I've always loved to sing, for as long as I can remember," she said. "My sister and I would put on elaborate shows ... we had very patient parents.
"I started writing songs as a teenager. I played classical violin and sang in jazz bands when I was a kid. Guitar playing came later for me."
