AT ONLY 10 years old it is clear Deloraine resident Bianca Murray is a natural performer.
The Deloraine Primary School grade-5 student entered eight speech and drama classes and four vocal classes at this year's Burnie City Eisteddfod last month.
Bianca came first - 11 times.
She was also awarded the most promising under-16 performer at a special awards ceremony.
"I just love getting on the stage," Bianca said.
"My cousin used to perform a lot, and I thought it was interesting and exciting."
The cousin to whom Bianca refers is 11-year-old George Bush, who is performing as Gustave in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Melbourne production Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.
The gift of performance runs in the family.
Bianca's grandparents Brian and Erin Wooler spent 10 years working and performing in shows for a restaurant in Gladstone, central Queensland; her mother, Brigit Murray, would also perform in these shows.
Mrs Wooler, who has performed since she was three, helped Bianca train and practise for the eisteddfod.
Bianca said the secret to getting up on stage, remembering her lines and performing well was practice.
"I practise once a day until I get all my songs right," she said.
For a few weeks leading up to the eisteddfod she spent an hour a day training with her grandmother.
She also started training with a singing teacher in Elizabeth Town.
Some of Bianca's eisteddfod singing performances included Castle on a Cloud from Les Miserables, My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music, as well as an Anne of Green Gables performance piece.
Bianca also recited a self- written poem entitled Australia's Hero.
The poem was based on Sophie Delezio, of Sydney, who was run- over and seriously injured by cars in two separate incidents.
